Some interesting facts ...

The Earth is just the right distance from the sun for life to thrive - not too hot and not too cold.

The moderately fast rotation speed on the Earth means that the surface of the Earth never heats up too much, nor cools down too much (compared with Venus, for example).

The Earth's electromagnetic field protects the surface of the planet from the solar wind.

The Earth's atmosphere protects the planet from UV light and meteorites.

The diameter of the sun is 400 times the diameter of the moon, and the sun also happens to be 400 times further from the Earth than the moon is.
